| MonitoringLocationDescriptionText | The watershed of the Gibbon River drains much of the west-central portions of Yellowstone National Park. There are hundreds of thermal features that drain into the Gibbon River which include the Norris Geyser basin. The plethora of thermal features found along the length of the Gibbon River have an effect on temperature regimes, dissolved solutes and acidity which ultimately affect the overall water quality. The sample location is approximately 1/2 mile from the confluence of the Firehole and Madison Rivers. |
