MonitoringLocationDescriptionText This station is located near the mouth of the Firehole River on the west side of Yellowstone National Park. The river basin of the Firehole River encompasses approximately 73,038 hectares and drains much of the west-central portion of Yellowstone. The Firehole River is heavily influenced by the many thermal features that drain into the river and runs parallel to a portion of the south-loop road. A USGS gage station is located approximately 100 meters upstream of the sample site.
