MonitoringLocationDescriptionText This station is at Wilson's Creek Transect No. 1 Midpoint, the midpoint of a transect on Wilsons Creek, in Springfield, MO. The transect begins 100 meters upstream of the South Scenic Avenue Bridge at 37.18651947N, 93.3302375W, and ends at 250 meters upstream of the bridge at 37.18643368N, 93.32845697W. Transects are 20 times the mean stream width, with a minimum of 150 meters. A total transect length of 150 meters was used here. In some years the stream width was greater than 7.5 meters, thus increasing the transect length to greater than 150 meters. In those years, the midpoint was within 30 meters of this location. Mean stream width can be found in the biological assessment report for the specific year. Wilson's Creek is the same as Wilsons Creek.
