THE SAMPLE SITE IS ON THE MAIN STEM OF RIDLEY CREEK EAST OF GARRETT MILL ROAD AND CLOSE TO HIGHWAY 3 IN WILLISTOWN TOWNSHIP. DATA ARE FROM A SERIES OF RIDLEY CREEK REPORTS PREPARED BY THE ADVANCED BIOLOGY STUDENTS OF CONESTOGA HIGH SCHOOL; TREDYFFRINEASTTOWN SCHOOL DISTRICT. STUDENTS USED TO BE UNDER THE DIRECTION OF DR. RALPH HEISTER BUT HAVE BEEN UNDER THE DIRECTION OF NORMAN MARRINER SINCE 1991. SAMPLING WAS DONE BY THE STUDENTS. BACTERIOLOGICAL SAMPLES WERE RUN BY THE CHESTER COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT.
