IT IS IN THE CUSTER NATIONAL FOREST LITTLE MISSOURI GRASSLANDS OF THE US FOREST SERVICE. THE SITE IS NORTHWEST OF THEODORE ROOSEVELT NATIONAL PARK. IT IS ALONG THE NORTHERNMOST OF THREE DRAINAGES ORIGINATING WEST OF THE PETRIFIED FOREST HIKING AND HORSE TRAIL IN THEODORE ROOSEVELT NATIONAL PARK. EACH DRAINAGE FLOWS INTO THE SAME INTERMITTENT STREAM OF LITTLE WANNAGAN CREEK NORTHWEST OF THE PARK BOUNDARY. THE SITE IT NEAR THE CONFLUENCE OF THE NORTHERNMOST DRAINAGE AND THE STREAM.
