MonitoringLocationDescriptionText SITE IS LOCATED UPSTREAM OF THE COUNTY ROAD 669 CROSSING OF SHALDA CREEK. THE MAIN CHANNEL OF THE SHALDA CREEK IN THIS UPPER SECTION IS RELATIVELY DEEP WITH DEPTH REACHING OVER A METER IN MOST PLACES. THE STREAM EDGE IS LINED WITH DENSE BEDS AND FLOATING MATS OF MACROPHYTES WHICH EXTENDED SEVERAL METERS INTO THE STREAM. AS A RESULT THE RIPARIAN VEGETATION ALONG THE BANKS DID NOT ACT TO SHADE THE MAIN STREAM CHANNEL. THE SUBSTRATE WITHIN THE MAIN CHANNEL CONSISTS OF SAND SILT AND MARL. SITE IS LOCATED ON THE GOOD HARBOR BAY MICHIGAN 7.5 MINUTE SERIES (TOPO) QUADRANGLE. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF SLEEPING BEAR DUNES NATIONAL LAKESHORE P.O.
