MonitoringLocationDescriptionText SITE IS LOCATED APPROXIMATELY 100 FEET DOWNSTREAM OF THE GLEN ARBOR DAM AROUND THE FIRST BEND. THE CHANNEL WIDTH IN THIS STRETCH OF THE RIVER IS APPROXIMATELY 12 METERS AND DEPTH IS APPROXIMATELY 0.7 METERS. LARGE PATCHES OF SAND AND GRAVEL COMPRISED THE MAJORITY OF THE EXPOSED SUBSTRATES. RIPARIAN VEGETATION IN THIS AREA CONSISTED OF BIRCH ALDERS MAPLE AND CEDAR TREES. IN GENERAL CANOPY COVERED APPROXIMATELY 50% AND DOWNED DEAD CEDAR TREES LITTERED THE WEST SIDE OF THE CHANNEL. SITE IS LOCATED ON THE GLRN ARBOR MICHIGAN 7.5 MINUTE SERIES(TOPO) QUADRANGLE. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF SLEEPING BEAR DUNES NATIONAL LAKESHORE P.O.
