IT IS A DYNAMIC SYSTEM WHERE THE LAKE IS SOMETIMES CONNECTED TO LAKE MICHIGAN DEPENDING ON STORM EVENTS AND WAVE ACTION. LITTLE IS KNOWN ABOUT GROUNDWATER FLOW IN. THIS SYSTEM ALTHOUGH THERE IS NO DEVELOPMENT ON THE LAKE RECEIVES HEAVY USE DUE TO ITS PROXIMITY TO LAKE MICHIGAN. SITE WAS USED FOR NUTRIENT SAMPLING IN 1994. IT IS LOCATED ALONG THE NORTHEASTERN SHORELINE OF THE LAKE NEAR WHERE THE ACCESS ROAD ENDS. IT IS LOCATED ON THE EMPIRE MICHIGAN 7.5 MINUTE QUADRANGLE.
