MonitoringLocationDescriptionText The Southeast Essex Publicly-Owned Treatment Works (POTW) plant is a primary treatment plant that discharges into Salem Harbor. The effluent from this plant was sampled by personnel from Menzie-Cura from a valve at the plant, upstream of the pipe leading to the point of discharge. This sampling point was downstream of all treatment activities, and samples collected from it represented the final effluent entering Salem Harbor.
