THE SITE IS AN UNNAMED SPRING; LOCAL SPRING NUMBER (D1418)20 BCA. THE SPRING IS LOCATED IN THE UPPER REACH OF A SMALL DRAINAGE NORTH OF THE EAST SLOPE TRAIL; THE SPRING IS SOUTHEAST OF ITALIAN SPRING. THE LATITUDE AND LONGITUDE VALUES WERE OBTAINED BY DIGITIZING THE CENTER OF THE SPRING ON THE PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED 7.5 MINUTE QUADRANGLE. PRIOR TO COLLECTION OF THE DATA FOR THIS SITE: 1) A RECENT BURN HAD REMOVED VEGETATION AND 2) SCOURING FROM A RECENT RUNOFF EVENT LEFT BEDROCK EXPOSED. DATA ARE FROM A USGS SPRING SCHEDULE FORM USED BY WILLIAM REED OF THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE TO RECORD 1981 FIELD DATA.
