THIS STUDY WAS FUNDED BY THE U.S. FISH AND WILDLIFE SERVICE TO DETERMINE THE EFFECTS OF ACID PRECIPITATION ON PONDBREEDING AMPHIBIANS IN THE WESTERN UNITED STATES. RESULTS OF THIS STUDY SHOWED NO CONCLUSIVE EVIDENCE THAT EPISODIC ACIDIFICATION IS THE CAUSE OF OBSERVED DECLINES IN AMPHIBIAN POPULATIONS.
