The data originate from a University of Virginia Department of Environmental Science Master's Thesis prepared by Sandra Lee McCarley entitled "An Evaluation of the Sensitivity of the Central Rocky Mountain Region to Acidic Deposition" published in 1983. The data also appear in an October 1983 report published by the Office of Research and Development of the Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service entitled "Rocky Mountain Acidification Study" FWS/OBS80/40.17 Air Pollution and Acid Rain Report No. 17.
