THE SITE IS LOCATED AT THE BIG THOMPSON RIVER ABOUT 0.25 MILES DOWNSTREAM OF THE FIRST BRIDGE ON THE BEAR LAKE ROAD AND IS WITHIN THE BOUNDARY OF ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK. THE DATA ARE FROM A BASELINE WATER QUALITY STUDY REPORT (OCTOBER 1981) BY LISA BRUINSMA OF COLORADO STATE UNIVERSITY; FORT COLLINS CO. THE WATER QUALITY DATA WERE COLLECTED FROM THE BIG THOMPSON AND FALL RIVERS; TWO LARGE AND HEAVILY USED WATERSHEDS IN THE PARK; IN ORDER TO ASSESS WATER QUALITY IN THE TWO WATERSHEDS AND DETERMINE THE NEED FOR FUTURE MONITORING.
