The station is located at a gage on Fern Creek above the Big Thompson River near the hiking trail. The data originated from a University of Colorado dissertation entitled "Isotopic and Chemical Flowpath Separation of Streamflow During Snowmelt and Hydrogeological Controls of SurfaceWater Chemistry in Six AlpineSubalpine Basins; Rocky Mountain National Park; Colorado" 1996 by Julie K.
