THE STATION WAS ON PIPESTONE CREEK INSIDE PIPESTONE NATIONAL MONUMENT THIRTY METERS DOWNSTREAM OF WINNEWISSA FALLS IN A RIFFLE NEAR A LARGE WILLOW TREE. THE CREEK WAS SAMPLED AS PART OF A STUDY ON MACROINVERTEBRATES. NITRATE; PHOSPHATE; PH; AND OTHER DATA WERE PUBLISHED IN THE REPORT; "MACROINVERTEBRATE ASSEMBLAGES AND WATER QUALITY IN SIX NATIONAL PARK UNITS IN THE GREAT PLAINS" BY BORIS KONDRATIEFF (1991).
