MonitoringLocationDescriptionText Moses Spring is located in Bear Gulch on the east side of Pinnacles National Monument, CA. The spring is on the west side of Bear Gulch Trail about 0.4 miles southwest from the Moses Spring/High Peaks Trail head. The small spring pool outflow runs down the trail slope to the northeast. Ground water discharges from a 0.10inch X 0.10inch hole in rhyolite breccia that is 1.3 feet vertically above a mossy pool. The spring was discovered in 1923, 12 years earlier than the construction of Bear Gulch Reservoir, which is located about 0.2 miles upstream from Moses Spring on Bear Creek. The USGS Site ID is 362830121111201and is named MOSES SPRING.
