| MonitoringLocationDescriptionText | North Boca Negra Arroyo is ephemeral, flowing only after intense precipitation events. The arroyo trends southeast, originating on West Mesa, passing through Petroglyph National Monument, and emptying into the Rio Grande. Water samples were collected with an automated pump sampler. This arroyo is in an area of heavy urban development and this waterquality inventory provides baseline information. There are concerns about runoff and its affect on ephemeral pools, and how changes in effective capacity (or flow) of the drainages may alter other natural and cultural resources in the Petroglyph National Monument. |
