THIS SITE IS AT TRANSECT 18 SITE 2 IN THE LOWER LAGUNA MADRE. DATA ARE FROM A SERIES OF YEARLY REPORTS (NUMBERS 117; 144; 171; AND 191) BY D. C. HAHL AND KARL W. RATZLAFF OF THE U.S. GEOLOGICAL SURVEY FOR THE TEXAS WATER DEVELOPMENT BOARD. THE REPORTS ARE TITLED "CHEMICAL AND PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF WATER IN ESTUARIES OF TEXAS SEPTEMBER 1967SEPTEMBER 1968; OCTOBER 1968SEPTEMBER 1969; OCTOBER 1969SEPTEMBER 1970; AND OCTOBER 1970SEPTEMBER 1971" AND WERE PUBLISHED IN MAY 1970; APRIL 1972; JUNE 1973; AND MAY 1975 RESPECTIVELY. THE PURPOSE OF THESE REPORTS WAS TO CREATE "A LONGTERM RECORD OF THE CHEMICAL; PHYSICAL; AND HYDRAULIC CHARACTERISTICS OF THE TEXAS ESTUARINE SYSTEMS."
