THIS STATION IS AT THE WEST FLAT BAR SEINE AREAS IN ZONE 2. ZONE 2 IS A COMPOSITE OF 5 SEPARATE TRANSECTS. THE COORDINATES FOR THIS STATION ARE CENTRALLY LOCATED TO THE ZONE. DATA ARE FROM A REPORT BY GARY M. STOKES; "THE DISTRIBUTION AND ABUNDANCE OF PENAEID SHRIMP IN THE LOWER LAGUNA MADRE OF TEXAS; WITH A DESCRIPTION OF THE LIVE BAIT SHRIMP FISHERY;" 1974. THE PURPOSE OF THE STUDY WAS TO HELP DEPARTMENT OFFICIALS EVALUATE THE CONTRIBUTION OF THE LAGUNA MADRE TO COMMERCIAL FISHING. DATA ARE AVERAGED FOR THE SEASON.
