| MonitoringLocationDescriptionText | THE SITE IS LOCATED ON THE QUITOBAQUITO SPRINGS ARIZONA 15 MINUTE SERIES (TOPOGRAPHIC) QUADRANGLE. THE SITE IS AT THE QUITOBAQUITO SOUTHWEST SPRING. DISCHARGE OCCURS PREDOMINANTLY AT 2 POINTS ON THE SOUTHERN SLOPES OF THE QUITOBAQUITO HILLS: THE NORTHEAST (UPPER) AND THE SOUTHWEST (LOWER) SPRINGS. WATER IS PIPED FROM THE NORTHEAST SPRING TO THE SOUTHWEST SPRING; THE COMBINED FLOW IS DIRECTED OVER A WEIR AND THROUGH A 700 FOOT LONG OPEN CHANNEL FROM THE SOUTHWEST SPRING TO THE POND. THE QUITOBAQUITO SPRING SYSTEM IS THE LARGEST SURFACE WATER RESOURCE IN ORPI AND RESULTS IN ONE OF THE LARGEST SPRINGFED OASES IN THE SONORAN DESERT.
