MonitoringLocationDescriptionText THE STATION IS LOCATED ON THE LANCING TENNESSEE 7.5 MINUTE SERIES (TOPOGRAPHIC) QUADRANGLE AND IS INSIDE THE OBED WILD AND SCENIC RIVER (OBRI) BOUNDARIES. THE SITE IS AT ROCK CREEK APPROXIMATELY 0.3 MILES FROM THE EMORY RIVER AND 30 FEET UPSTREAM OF THE MOUTH OF CAMP BRANCH. DATA WERE COLLECTED AT THIS SITE IN 1979 BY THOMAS M. ABBOTT OF TENNESSE TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY IN COOPERATION WITH THE U.S. FISH AND WILDLIFE SERVICE TO ASSESS THE EFFECTS OF COAL MINING ON OBRI. STATIONS WERE SELECTED THAT WERE ACCESSIBLE AND KNOWN TO BE IMPACTED BY COAL MINING RUNOFF. DATA WERE SUMMARIZED IN A REPORT TITLED "A WATER QUALITY ASSESSMENT OF COAL MINING EFFECTS ON THE OBED WILD AND SCENIC RIVER." FOR MORE INFORMATION CONTACT THE CHIEF OF RESOURCES AT OBRI; P.O.
