MonitoringLocationDescriptionText THE STATION IS LOCATED ON THE LANCING TENNESSEE 7.5 MINUTE SERIES (TOPOGRAPHIC) QUADRANGLE AND IS INSIDE THE OBED WILD AND SCENIC RIVER (OBRI) BOUNDARIES. THE SITE IS ON THE EMORY RIVER ON RIVER MILE 27.7; 0.1 MILES UPSTREAM OF NEMO BRIDGE. DATA WERE COLLECTED AT THIS SITE IN 1979 BY THOMAS M. ABBOTT OF TENNESSEE TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY IN COOPERATION WITH THE U.S. FISH AND WILDLIFE SERVICE TO ASSESS THE EFFECTS OF COAL MINING ON OBRI. STATIONS WERE SELECTED THAT WERE ACCESSIBLE AND KNOWN BE IMPACTED BY COAL MINING RUNOFF. DATA WERE SUMMARIZED IN A REPORT TITLED "A WATER QULAITY ASSESSMENT OF COAL MINING EFFECTS ON THE OBED WILD AND SCENIC RIVER." FOR MORE INFORMATION CONTACT THE CHIEF OF RESOURCES AT OBRI; P.O.
