Researchers described the location as: at the confluence of Cold Springs and Beaver Creeks upstream to near the road crossing (U.S. Highway 385 bridge). This is one of six pools sampled. The coordinates represent the approximate midpoint of the pools segment. Researchers described the stream as similar to Beaver Creek, clear water, low discharge, rooted aquatic vegetation and floating algae masses in low gradient open canopy areas, and substrate was silt to boulders with some woody debris.
