Researchers described the location as: sampled low velocity pools as we moved downstream (from the U.S. Highway 385 bridge) to near the confluence of Cold Springs Creek. This is one of five pools sampled. The coordinates represent the approximate midpoint of the pools segment. Researchers described the stream as run/pool with a few small riffles, clear water, low discharge, riparian vegetation varied from open meadow to heavy canopy, and substrate ranged from silt to cobble with a scatter of boulders, bed rock, and some woody debris. Pools had low velocity.
