| MonitoringLocationDescriptionText | This station is at Starling Basin pools. The station represents a transect of the entire length of a small unnamed stream flowing in Starling Basin (approximately 0.8 kilometers) within Mount Rushmore National Memorial. There were 12 pools along the transect which were sampled. However, only one set of coordinates were recorded and are used here for the station. Researchers described the stream as only small pools formed by large boulders, flow was very low, heavy canopy and large rock outcroppings, and substrate was sand and gravel. |
