The given coordinates are the approximate midpoint of a transect, with the upstream point at 42.20069444N, 104.5456389W, and the downstream point at 42.20086111N, 104.5445833W. Researchers described the stream as backwater, riffle tail-out, and run/pool, good water clarity, depth variable from a few centimeters to 1 meter, low to swift current, cattails and algae mats in backwater, and substrate was deep silt in backwater and gravel/cobble elsewhere.
