| MonitoringLocationDescriptionText | Spring Orifice: There is an extensive seeping and dripping backwall and steep colluvial slope in an alcove. At the base of the alcove is a 5m2 pool with a short ~15m section of channelized flow. About 100m downslope from the backwall there is a steep drop down to the canyon bottom. Riparian vegetation in the canyon bottom connects to Courthouse Wash. The small section of the hanging garden monitored for vegetation is on the western side up gradient of the pool. || Channel: A short, ~15m section of channelized flow occurs at the base of the upper colluvial slope. || Aquifer Type: Sandstone || Geologic Unit: Moab Member Curtis Fm || Geomorphic Surfaces: (1) BW of type 'Backwall' comprising 32m^2 of the sample site; (2) CS of type 'Colluvial Slope' comprising 21m^2 of the sample site; (3) Total site area: 53m^2 |
