| MonitoringLocationDescriptionText | Spring Orifice: A seeping and dripping backwall lines the alcove, and there is measureable flow at the canyon head. Shallow pools collect at the base of the BW in some areas; mostly near the center of the HG. See rare plant study description. || Channel: Channels emerge from the eastern & western sides of the spring, then merge ~60 m downstream in an alluvial area dominated by box elder. The western channel has a prominent plunge pool area from the cliff above, and there is evidence of significant flow events in the channel bottom. The eastern channel is spring discharge dominated. || Aquifer Type: Sandstone || Geologic Unit: Moab Member Curtis Fm || Geomorphic Surfaces: (1) BW of type 'Backwall' comprising 432m^2 of the sample site; (2) CS of type 'Colluvial Slope' comprising 800m^2 of the sample site; (3) Total site area: 1232m^2 |
