| MonitoringLocationDescriptionText | Betatakin Spring is about 2,000 feet southwest of Betatakin Ruin. The spring is in the adjacent drainage to the west of Betatakin Ruin. Water samples were collected from standing water inside a cave in the sandstone cliff. The cave appears to be part natural and part manmade. There is a concrete dam about 2feet high at the mouth of the cave; water is impounded behind the dam. Water leaves the cave through seeps in the concrete dam. Water samples from this spring provide information about the water quality of the N aquifer. |
