| MonitoringLocationDescriptionText | The Passaic River is the second longest river in New Jersey. It is a roving, relatively slowmoving river whose headwaters are in Leddell Pond just outside the boundaries of Morristown National Historical Park. It is by far the largest of the five water systems in the present study. A remnant of glacial Lake Passaic, this river borders or passes through seven of New Jersey's counties before finally draining into Newark Bay. |
