MonitoringLocationDescriptionText THE STATION IS LOCATED ON THE POINT LOOKOUT COMONTEZUMA COUNTY 7.5 MINUTE SERIES (TOPOGRAPHIC) QUADRANGLE. THE SITE IS LOCATED AT THE OUTFLOW OF BIG HILL PIPES WHICH TRANSPORT WATER FROM A SPRING APPROX IMATELY 60 FEET AWAY. THIS IS DONE IN AN ATTEMPT TO PREVENT THE WATER FROM CREATING A HEAVE IN THE ROAD BY HAVING IT DRAIN INTO A GUTTER. THE SITE IS WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES OF MESA VERDE NATIONAL PARK. THE DATA ARE FROM SEVERAL LABORATORY REPORTS FROM COLORADO STATE UNIVERSITY SOIL; WATER & PLANT TESTING LABORATORY (FORT COLLINS; CO) AND WERE COLLECTED BY PARK SERVICE EMPLOYEES AS PART OF THE REGULAR MONITORING OF WATER SITES WITHIN MESA VERDE NATIONAL PARK.
