| MonitoringLocationDescriptionText | The original collection site EFLR is located on the upstream side of the bridge at the (AL SR 117) SR 48 crossing, just inside Chattooga County, Georgia. However, that bridge is being replaced and at the moment, it does not look as if access will be safe once completed. But I can't know absolutely until the work is completed. This site is important because of the many uses within this subwatershed. Domestic development, agriculture, clearcutting, and reclaimed strip mines are prevalent throughout the area. A new tiny home subdivision is now located immediately upstream of this sampling site. We have established this new or extended site EFLR2 until we can return to original site, if possible. This site is at the small bridge crossing of CR 84, the road that leads to LCLR further downstream. This site is approximately 0.80 miles downstream from EFLR. This adds about 380 acres of watershed influence, not reflected in the original EFLR sample point. Additional influences in the river, between the two sites, includes Little River Escape, a 50-acre (48 lot) tiny home community immediately upstream of the new site, also one farm pond, about one half dozen homes, a closed down convenience store, and some agricultural fields, but the majority is forested. |
