MonitoringLocationDescriptionText THE STATION IS LOCATED ON THE MT. KATMAI (B4) AK 1:63360 SCALE SERIES TOPOGRAPHIC QUADRANGLE AND IS INSIDE THE KATMAI NATIONAL PARK AND PRESERVE BOUNDARIES (KATM). THE SITE IS LOCATED AT THE MIDVALLEY THERMAL SPRING 300 METERS FROM STATION T14 OCCURRING NEAR THE BOTTOM OF AN EROSIONAL GORGE AT THE VALLEY OF TEN THOUSAND SMOKES (VTTS). WATER QUALITY SAMPLES WERE COLLECTED AT THIS SITE BY TERRY KEITH (US GEOLOGICAL SURVEY) IN THE EARLY 1990'S AS PART OF A GEOCHEMICAL STUDY OF THE VTTS. RESULTS WERE PUBLISHED IN THE REPORT "GEOCHEMISTRY OF WATERS IN THE VALLEY OF TEN THOUSAND SMOKES REGION; ALASKA" BY TERRY KEITH ET AL.
