MonitoringLocationDescriptionText THE STATION IS LOCATED ON THE MT. KATMAI (C6) AK 1:63360 SCALE SERIES TOPOGRAPHIC QUADRANGLE AND IS INSIDE KATMAI NATIONAL PARK AND PRESERVE (KATM) BOUNDARIES. THE SITE IS LOCATED AT BROOKS LAKE AND IS ASSUMED TO BE NEAR THE CENTER OF THE LAKE. DATA FROM MULTIPLE SAMPLES WERE COMPOSITED INTO A SINGLE SAMPLE VALUE. DATA WERE COLLECTED BETWEEN JUNE 1961 AND MAY 1962; MORE EXACT SAMPLE DATES WERE NOT GIVEN. LIMNOLOGICAL DATA COLLECTION WAS SUPERVISED BY WILBUR L. HARTMAN; BUREAU OF COMMERCIAL FISHERIES (AUKE BAY LABORATORY). RESULTS WERE SUMMARIZED IN A REPORT TITLED "BIOLOGICAL STUDIES AND ESTIMATES OF OPTIMUM ESCAPEMENTS OF SOCKEYE SALMON IN THE MAJOR RIVER SYSTEMS IN SOUTHWESTERN ALASKA" (BURGNER ET. AL. 1969).
