| MonitoringLocationDescriptionText | THE STATION IS LOCATED ON THE JEWEL CAVE SDCUSTER COUNTY 7.5 MINUTE SERIES (TOPOGRAPHIC) QUADRANGLE. THE SAMPLE WAS TAKEN FROM LEMONADE SPRING INSIDE OF JEWEL CAVE. DATA WERE COLLECTED BY JEWEL CAVE NATIONAL MONUMENT PERSONNEL IN ORDER TO DETERMINE THE EFFECTS OF HAVING THE MAIN PARKING LOT LOCATED ON TOP OF THE CAVE. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE AMOUNT OF VOLATILE COMPOUNDS ENTERING THE CAVE WATERS AS A RESULT OF THE OVERHEAD PARKING LOT WAS INSIGNIFICANT. FOR MORE INFORMATION CONTACT THE CHIEF OF RESOURCES AT JEWEL CAVE NATIONAL MONUMENT; R.R.1 BOX 60AA; CUSTER SD 577309608 (TEL. 6056732288).
