THE SAMPLING SITE IS OUTSIDE HOPEWELL FURNACE NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE. THE SITE IS JUST DOWNSTREAM OF BIRCHRUNVILLE ROAD AT BIRCH RUN. DATA ARE FROM A SERIES OF BIRCH RUN REPORTS PREPARED BY THE ADVANCED BIOLOGY STUDENTS OF CONESTOGA HIGH SCHOOL; TREDYFFRINEASTTOWN SCHOOL DISTRICT. STUDENTS USED TO BE UNDER THE DIRECTION OF DR. RALPH HEISTER BUT HAVE BEEN DIRECTED BY NORMAN MARRINER SINCE 1991. SAMPLING WAS DONE BY THE STUDENTS.
