THE STATION WAS ON FRENCH CREEK AT THE ROUTE 23 ROAD CROSSING; RIVER MILE 18.6. THE CREEK WAS SAMPLED AS PART OF A NUTRIENTRELATED USE IMPAIRMENT SURVEY OF FRENCH CREEK BY THE BUREAU OF WATER QUALITY MANAGEMENT. THE STUDY WAS CONDUCTED TO DETERMINE WHETHER FRENCH CREEK WAS NITROGEN OR PHOSPHORUSLIMITED. THE FINAL CONCLUSION OF THE REPORT WAS THAT FRENCH CREEK WAS COLIMITED BY NITROGEN AND PHOSPHORUS. DATA WERE PUBLISHED IN THE REPORT "FRENCH CREEK; NUTRIENT RELATED/ USE IMPAIRMENT SURVEY" BY CYNTHIA L. STEELE (1988).
