THE STATION WAS ON AN UNNAMED TRIBUTARY TO FRENCH CREEK AT PA ROUTE 113; RIVER MILE 0.31. THE CREEK WAS SAMPLED AS PART OF A STUDY BY THE NPS AND PENNSYLVANIA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION TO ASSESS NONPOINT SOURCE POLLUTION IN FRENCH CREEK AND TO DOCUMENT OVERALL WATER QUALITY IN THE BASIN. DATA WERE PUBLISHED IN THE REPORT "AQUATIC BIOLOGY INVESTIGATION; FRENCH CREEK/CHESTER COUNTY; NPS SURVEY" BY MICHAEL R. BOYER (1993). THE REPORT STATED; "THE TRIBUTARY HAD A HEAVILY ERODED BANKS AND APPEARED TO BE MAINLY INFLUENCED BY STORMWATER RUNOFF. SURROUNDING LAND WAS PRIMARILY RESIDENTIAL WITH SCATTERED WOODLOTS..THE INVERTEBRATE COMMUNITY WAS DEPRESSED WITH 16 TAXA COLLECTED..OVERALL STREAM CONDITIONS WERE FAIR."
