THE STATION WAS ON FRENCH CREEK AT SHEEDER MILL ROAD (T491); RIVER MILE 10.00. THE CREEK WAS SAMPLED AS PART OF A STUDY BY THE NPS AND PENNSYLVANIA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION TO ASSESS NONPOINT SOURCE POLLUTION IN FRENCH CREEK AND TO DOCUMENT OVERALL WATER QUALITY IN THE BASIN. DATA WERE PUBLISHED IN THE REPORT "AQUATIC BIOLOGY INVESTIGATION; FRENCH CREEK/CHESTER COUNTY; NPS SURVEY" BY MICHAEL R. BOYER (1993). THE REPORT STATED; "CHEMICAL PARAMETERS SHOWED GOOD WATER QUALITY. THE BACTERIA CONCENTRATIONS WERE SLIGHTLY ELEVATED..WATER QUALITY WAS SUPPORTIVE OF THE HQTSF DESIGNATION AT STATION 6."
