THE STATION WAS ON SOUTH BRANCH FRENCH CREEK AT THE INTERSECTION OF PA ROUTES 345 AND 401; RIVER MILE 7.76. THE CREEK WAS SAMPLED AS PART OF A STUDY BY THE NPS AND PENNSYLVANIA DEPT. OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION TO ASSESS NONPOINT SOURCE POLLUTION IN FRENCH CREEK AND TO DOCUMENT OVERALL WATER QUALITY IN THE BASIN. DATA WERE PUBLISHED IN THE REPORT "AQUATIC BIOLOGY INVESTIGATION; FRENCH CREEK; CHESTER COUNTY; NPS SURVEY" BY MICHAEL R. BOYER (1993). THE REPORT STATED; "ALTHOUGH NO TROUT WERE CAPTURED AT STATION 3 THE CHEMICAL PARAMETERS AND BIOTA FOUND INDICATE THAT THE DESIGNATED CLASSIFICATION COULD BE ATTAINED. THE SOUTH BRANCH IS NOT STOCKED WITH TROUT AT THE PRESENT TIME."
