MonitoringLocationDescriptionText Below Beet Dump Spring (T7S R13E 30CCC) is located in the southern section of the Bell Rapids Plateau, down a small drainage near the location of the former beet dump weighing station. The water seeps out slowly through silty clay material at an elevation of 1008 meters. Therefore, a horizontal well was placed at the bottom of the drainage into the hill side at an elevation of 1,008 meters. The well aided in retrieving the water samples and kept the water from being contaminated by surface activity. Water flowed from the well at about 0.15 liters per second. Grab water samples were retrieved once every three months. This site is considered in the siltclay hydrogeologic group.
