| MonitoringLocationDescriptionText | Monitoring Well 30DAA1 (T17S R13E 30DAA1) is located in the southern area of Bell Rapids plateau on a small strip of BLM land. In order to obtain a representative groundwater sample from the aquifer, a one half horsepower Grundfos submersible pump was placed in the well just above the bottom of the well. The well was sampled once every three months by grab samples from the pumped stream after allowing the well to be purged. The well is a low yielding well, which frequently went dry after pumping for 15 minutes. During June 2005 to February 2006, a data logger was placed in the well to obtain daily water levels. During this time, two pumping events occurred. The first occurred August 17, 2005 with a maximum drawdown of approximately three meters and almost completely recovered after twentyfour days on September 10, 2005. The second event started on November 14, 2005 with a maximum drawdown of approximately three meters and recovered in nineteen days on December 3, 2005. Well 30DAA1 is considered to reside in the sand hydrogeologic group. |
