MonitoringLocationDescriptionText This station is at Texas Well Number 4703204, approximately 8.7 kilometers 8.7 of the confluence of North and South McKittrick Creeks and 600 meters south of the Texas-New Mexico border. Leggat refers to this well as Old Gray Ranch Well and it was completed in May 1940. It was drilled to 55 feet in 1940 and the well water level measured from the land surface was 42 feet. Later it was deepened to 70 feet. The owner reports the well yields a strong supply of water from the alluvium in Big Canyon Draw. The primary aquifer is Alluvium and Permian System, according to Texas Water Development Board database.
