MonitoringLocationDescriptionText THE STATION IS LOCATED ON THE LIBERTY COLORADO 7.5 MINUTE SERIES (TOPOGRAPHIC) QUADRANGLE. THE SITE IS ON MEDANO CREEK AT SHOCKEY'S CROSSING IN GREAT SAND DUNES NATIONAL MONUMENT APPROXIMATELY 1000 FEET UPSTREAM FROM THE LITTLE MEDANO CREEK CONFLUENCE. THIS SITE IS THE SAME AS GRSA_BOR_SHOCKY. SAMPLING FOR THIS SITE WAS DONE ON DECEMBER 10 1990 FOR WATER QUALITY AND FROM JUNE 1995 TO OCTOBER 1995 FOR FECAL COLIFORM. ALL ANALYSIS WERE PERFORMED BY SLV ANALYTICAL SERVICES IN ALAMOSA CO. AT THE REQUEST OF THE NATIONAL MONUMENT WITH FUNDING FROM FRIENDS OF THE DUNES. THE WATER QUALITY RESULTS ARE IN THE 1997 REPORT "WATER RESOURCES MANAGEMENT PLAN GREAT SAND DUNES NATIONAL MONUMENT COLORADO" BY MARK CHATMAN; DAVID SHARROW; AND ANDREW VALDEZ.
