| MonitoringLocationDescriptionText | THE STATION IS LOCATED ON THE ZAPATA RANCH COLORADOALAMOSA CO. 7.5 MINUTE SERIES (TOPOGRAPHIC) QUADRANGLE. THE SITE IS AT MOSCA SPRING IN GREAT SAND DUNES NATIONAL MONUMENT APPROXIMATELY 1/2 MILE NORTHEAST OF THE VISITOR CENTER AND 1/2 MILE SOUTHEAST FROM WHERE MOSCA CREEK CROSSES STATE ROUTE 150. THIS SITE IS THE SAME AS GRSA_USGS_MSPR. SAMPLING FOR THIS SITE WAS DONE ON APRIL 17 1991 BY THE UNITED STATES BUREAU OF RECLAMATION SAN LUIS VALLEY PROJECTS OFFICE CHEMISTRY LABORATORY IN ALAMOSA COLORADO AT THE REQUEST OF THE NATIONAL MONUMENT. THE RESULTS ARE IN THE 1997 REPORT "WATER RESOURCES MANAGEMENT PLAN GREAT SAND DUNES NATIONAL MONUMENT COLORADO" BY MARK CHATMAN; DAVID SHARROW; AND ANDREW VALDEZ.
