MonitoringLocationDescriptionText This Snow Creek station is in an unnamed subwatershed of approximately 1600 acres in the western Grand Portage Highlands. A series of beaver ponds and pools are established in the 4 kilometers upstream of the station. The station is located approximately 150 meters upstream from the footbridge at the confluence with the Pigeon River in NE1/4 Sec29 T64N R5E. Earth Geodetic Model (EGM96) used for elevation datum. EGM96 is a geopotential model of the Earth consisting of spherical harmonic coefficients complete to degree and order 360. Trimble GeoExplorer II was used for determining elevation and latitude/longitude coordinates. This monitoring station is inside Grand Portage N.M. boundaries.
