| MonitoringLocationDescriptionText | Nearly the entire length of Cottonwood Creek within the Historic Site was surveyed; the downstream end of the reach began at the irrigation ditch just above the Clark Fork River and extended 412 m upstream to the eastern boundary fence. Cottonwood Creek was 24 m wide and the substrate ranged from silt to cobble, with silt predominant. Aquatic macrophytes and filamentous algae were common and there were two small beaver dams on the stream. The upstream end of the reach is located at latitude 46.40256 and longitude 112.73884 and the downstream end of the reach is located at latitude 46.40361 and longitude 112.74353. The given latitude and longitude is the middle of the reach. |
