THE SITE IS WITHIN THE BOUNDARY OF GRANTKOHRS RANCH NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE AND IS LOCATED 2 KILOMETERS DOWNSTREAM FROM A U.S. GEOLOGICAL SURVEY GAGING STATION (NO. 12324200) AT DEER LODGE. WATER MONITORING AT THIS SITE WAS CONDUCTED HOURLY FOR 46 HOURS IN JULY 1994 AND AGAIN IN FEBRUARY 1995. THE RESULTS WERE USED IN "DIEL VARIATION OF TRACE METALS IN THE UPPER CLARK FORK RIVER MONTANA" (ENVIRON. SCI. TECHNOL. 1996; 30; 19531960) BY CHRISTINE BRICK AND JOHNNIE N. MOORE; DEPARTMENT OF GEOLOGY; UNIVERSITY OF MONTANA MISSOULA; MONTANA. STAFF GAGE MEASUREMENTS STORED AT THIS STATION WERE ACTUALLY RECORDED AT THE USGS STATION: 12324200 CLARK FORK AT DEER LODGE MT ABOUT 1 MILE UPSTREAM.
