MonitoringLocationDescriptionText Santa Maria Spring located on the South Rim, within the boundary of Grand Canyon National Park. The spring issues from the upper sandstone member of the Supai Formation in the Hermit Basin. Samples were collected as close as possible to the point of evolution from the ground. Actual station establishment date reported to STORET is estimated at the middle of the month because researchers gave only the month, and not the actual date, of station visits.
