MonitoringLocationDescriptionText Unkar Creek is located on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Unkar (Ambush) Spring discharges out of the Dox Sandstone along the northwest wall of the canyon, approximately 2 miles from the confluence of Unkar Creek and the Colorado River. Unkar (Ambush) Spring passes through a heavily vegetated alluvial slope prior to discharging into the Unkar creek bed.
